Uttar Bangal Maheshwari Sewa Trust was formed on 4th July, 1975, with the initiative of 11 social workers to establish a community Bhawan for social and academic activities. The trust purchased land and completed construction by 27th April, 1977, providing the community with an affordable venue.

Recognizing the need for a larger facility, the foundation stone for Maheshwari Sewa Sadan was laid and completed on 10th February, 2002, offering modern amenities. In 2004-05, the trust acquired 17 acres in Ranidanga, dedicating 5 acres for Uttar Banga Maheshwari College. The college received affiliation from the University of North Bengal on 14th December, 2022.
